New Mobile Call of Duty game on the way from Candy Crush developer

by on April 7, 2017

Back at the tail end of 2015, it was announced that gaming giant Activision had purchased King Digital Entertainment – the developers of the mega popular Candy Crush series of games. Though they do make other games, let’s face it, everyone just plays Candy Crush. Since then, it’s been quiet on all fronts as just what they might be working on, other than more levels in Candy Crush and Soda Crush, that is until now.

It’s only taken over a year, but it appears as though the team at King is working on a new Call of Duty… mobile game. According to GameIndustry.biz, a job posting over at King say they are looking to create an exciting new project, by bringing one of the most iconic franchises to mobile platforms.

As you can see, the listing seem to push how ambitious they want their people to be and that they want to think outside the box and make a game that is breaking new ground. That’s all well and good, but the later lines that read, the team will […have the freedom to think outside the box…] makes it sound like they may not even know what they are making, at least entirely. It could also just mean they want people who aren’t afraid to speak up and share ideas that are new and refreshing, that while the game is already well underway, it’s encouraged and rewarded to be a free thinker.

Being a COD fan, it’s encouraging to me that it at least sounds like King is trying to make a COD mobile experience that hasn’t been done before or if it has, can break new ground in how it’s presented.

This listing doesn’t give us an ETA on when we can expect to see this mobile game, but if I had to guess, I’d say November, so that it ties into the release of the new 2017 COD release, rumored to be WWII. What better way to experience COD, play at home, then take it to go on your phones.

If all this new COD info isn’t enough for you, perhaps you’ll be excited to know that Activision is in full Call of Duty mode right now, with a new, rumored Movie-verse with the COD franchise.
