Dolph Lundgren joins Jason Momoa in Aquaman movie

The Beast from the East, the Siberian Express, “The Russian” from Rocky IV, Ivan Drago is joining the Aquaman movie! Ok, so he’s not really Russian and his real name is Dolph Lundgren, but the man who gave Rocky brain damage because he could punch with the power of 1000 lbs of pressure per-square inch, is set to punch Aquaman underwater.

Lundgren, who is actually Swedish, has been a staple of action films, from his debut in James Bond, to the Russian in Rocky IV to even a really violent Punisher film in the 90’s and of course a few Expendables movies, where he’s shown off some humor. Though it doesn’t appear that Dolph will be to humorous in his latest role. Lundgren has signed on to play King Nereus, the leader of a group called Xebel, a rival colony to Arthur Curry’s Atlantis. Nereus’ goal is to kill  Curry and take his hot ass wife, Mera for his own Queen.

This casting now confirms that Jason Momoa’s Curry aka Aquaman, will now battle not one, but two enemies, Lundgren’s King Nereus and the previously cast Black Manta, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Aquaman’s cast and crew is growing as principal shooting looms closer. Directed by James Wan (Saw, Furious 7), Aquaman also stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, and Nicole Kidman and Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s parents. It’s scheduled to hit cinemas on December 21, 2018.
